Even though a news item from yesterday mentioned that the number of home sales in the Orlando area in October dropped for the first time since August 2014, apparently the metro area is still pretty hot for homeownership, a new study shows.
The study looked at metrics for healthy living, commuting, climate, educational opportunity, economic opportunity, resident satisfaction, walkability, real estate confidence and tax fairness. The data was compiled by Porch, a network that connects homeowners to service professionals, and Redfin.
And, drum roll please ... Orlando ranked as the No. 6 best place to own a home in America. Orlando's ranking is sixth out of 67 cities on the list. Click here to see the full study.
" Orlando rated highest in tax fairness and lowest in climate. It was above average in economic opportunity, walkability and educational opportunity. Cities with similar rankings included Minneapolis , Washington and Tampa," the study said.
